Who Spent It wins on
Zero setup, zero cost, no account, and the export itself never leaves your browser. You have a report before Vantage's signup form would finish.
Vantage wins on
SOC 2, 30+ integrations across cloud/SaaS/AI in one place, continuous automated tracking, and team budgets/anomaly alerts — real FinOps features we don't have.
| Feature | Who Spent It | Vantage |
|---|---|---|
| Starting price | Free forever for the one-shot report. | Starter free (capped), Pro $30/mo, Business $200/mo, Enterprise custom.1 |
| Free tier limits | No spend or seat cap — the limits are size: a drop estimated over ~450 MB of this tab's memory is refused with a message to split the file, and a saved report or share link is capped at 5 MB encrypted on every plan (both on /pricing). | Starter: up to $2,500 monthly tracked spend, 3 users, 6-month retention.1 |
| How it connects | Drop a CSV export — no account, no OAuth. The export itself is never sent — only Share, Save, Export CSV, and Unlock the drafts ever post anything, and only your email or, for Share/Save, an encrypted report — never the raw file. Route-by-route breakdown in the note below the table. | Native API integrations — connects directly to your Anthropic, OpenAI, and Cursor accounts.2 |
| Total integrations | 3 file formats (Cursor, Anthropic Console, Claude Team) plus manual invoice entry. | 30+ providers across cloud, SaaS, AI, and data infrastructure (35-item integrations library).1 |
| Per-developer AI breakdown | Leaderboard, model mix, tier-shift coaching per person. | "Break down spend by developer, model, token type, and more," unified with cloud/SaaS costs.2 |
| SOC 2 | Not applicable — pre-launch, nothing to certify yet. | Yes — SOC 1 and SOC 2 both, on every tier including Starter.1 |
| Data retention | None unless you save or share it — a saved report or share link (free, email only) keeps an encrypted copy for 7–90 days, 30 by default; everything else exists only in that browser tab (see /pricing). | 6 months (Starter/Pro), 12 months (Business), unlimited (Enterprise).1 |
| Signup required to see a real report | No. Drop a file, see the report. | Yes — even the free Starter tier requires creating a console.vantage.sh account.2 |
| "Book a demo" required | Never, on any tier. | No for Starter/Pro/Business (self-serve signup); Enterprise pricing is custom/sales-assisted, standard for that tier.1 |

What "Who Spent It" endpoints in the table above actually receive, route by route: one endpoint
ever receives anything from you: Share and Save post an encrypted report plus your email; Export
and the drafts unlock post that same email alone, with no report attached. The other two routes
only hand data back or confirm it — one lets a recipient's browser fetch a saved report's
ciphertext, and the magic-link confirm takes nothing from you but writes one thing of its own: the
timestamp that burns the token so it can't be reused. Full policy:

Who each is actually for
Vantage is the right pick if AI spend is one line item inside a broader cloud/SaaS FinOps practice you already run, want SOC 2 in the vendor questionnaire, and are willing to pay for continuous, automated tracking. Who Spent It is the right pick if you just got an invoice from Cursor or Anthropic, want to know who spent it and on which model tier, and don't want to connect an account or wait on a sales process to find out.
